Northeastern Illinois University’s Office of Human Resources (HR) is excited to bring you Workday this spring! The project team has been working vigorously over the last several months to plan for the implementation of Workday at NEIU. This included planning, configuring, loading data and testing to ensure a successful transition.
Implementing Workday is a major transition as it will replace the HR and Payroll processes in Banner. Once we go live later this spring, all employees who are paid by Northeastern Illinois University will use Workday to view their pay stubs and enter their time.
Moving to the cloud-based Workday platform will transition us from paper-based processes to a streamlined, mobile-friendly HR system. Workday will replace aspects of NEIUport as the system for accessing and updating payroll and personal information. This will include no more paper forms for Position Authorization Forms, Change in Status or One-Time Payments.
We have completed the testing phase for our Workday configurations and are preparing for transition to the production platform as well as training deliverables. Weekly messages will be shared to keep you updated on the transition timeline and training information.
We recently conducted user experience testing to introduce and engage our Change Agents from the NEIU community in Workday. It was a valuable experience as we continue to prepare training materials and plan next steps. When asked to describe their initial impression of Workday, one participant shared the following: “I’m excited. It will help so much. Transformational!”
