Hello NEIU Colleagues,
This week’s Workday Adoption Project communication is focused on the role of the leadership in our ongoing improvement efforts and two requests of our community members.
Academic Affairs, Human Resources, and UTS are collaborating to ensure the Workday system, security, and business processes support our hiring, payroll, and travel expense needs. Specifically, Academic Affairs, HR, and UTS are meeting regularly to discuss pending action items and outstanding issues. The leaders are also working with their respective teams to provide targeted updates and collect feedback. The strong partnership between these leaders and areas provides a solid foundation for our success moving forward.
ACTION ITEM UPDATES
The University continues to progress in addressing the challenges faced with implementing the Workday system. Provided below are examples of the positive changes made as a result of the feedback provided by the campus community during the Solution Sessions:

The Help Desk ticketing response time has improved, with zero tickets over seven days old.

MANAGERS: REVIEW YOUR SUPERVISORY ORGANIZATIONS
As part of our ongoing efforts to improve the accuracy of the organizational charts in Workday, we need the help of all managers. Please review your organizational chart in Workday today. There are two significant scenarios to consider:
-
You see an employee who is NOT an active employee (e.g., they have retired, resigned, have no active contract, etc.). If this is the case, please take action and follow the steps to terminate them so that they will not continue to be paid or log hours.
-
You see a name of someone that does not report to you. Send your request to move this person to helpdesk@neiu.edu and include the full name of the person who needs to be moved, the full name of the new supervisor (if known), and the effective date of the change.
