Spend Authorization vs. Expense Report
A Spend Authorization is the official authorization for employees requesting travel to encumber the funds utilized during travel. All travel must have a spend authorization. This is approved by the employee's manager, Cost Center Manager, and Fund Manager, as applicable.
An Expense Report is the official form used by employees to claim reimbursement of travel expenses or certain allowed non-travel expenses. Travel expense reports with an approved spend authorization are approved by the employee's supervisor and accounts payable office. Non-travel expense reports are approved by the employee's manager, Cost Center Manager, Fund Manager, as applicable, and accounts payable office.

HAVE A SUGESSTION? SUBMIT IT FOR REVIEW
The Workday Suggestion Box is a way for the campus community to provide feedback related to their experience or enhancements they would like to see in the Workday system. Here is the link to the digital “Suggestion Box.”
A few things to note:
-
The “Suggestion Box” is not a place to seek help or support. Colleagues still need to submit a ticket to the Support Desk (UTS) - helpdesk@neiu.edu
-
The “Suggestion Box” is also not a place to share your Workday tips/tricks. We ask that you still use the Google Form link for those types of stories.
