Workday Profile Picture Standards

Workday allows the option for all employees to upload a picture of themselves or an official NEIU approved logo in the employee’s Workday profile. The intent of this policy is to ensure that these profile pictures are appropriate for our workplace and to minimize misunderstandings within our community.
The following guidance should be considered when uploading a profile picture:

  • Pictures should be a recent professional or personal face shot (shoulder and above), identifiable portrait of the employee only. 
  • Pictures can be any Northeastern Illinois University approved logos.
  • Employee need to dress in appropriate business formal or business casual attire.
  • Pictures should not be full body, no sunglasses, no pets, no baby pictures, pictures of other people/family/department (or other individuals), nor should picture include group, vacation, sports or hobby; etc….
  • No pictures should show derogatory, discriminatory, or profane words, symbols, or phrases.
  • Pictures should not be of animals, memes, avatar, cartoons, political statements or other digital imagery.
  • Pictures should not include lewd or crude mannerisms or suggestive poses.

Employees should be advised that all photos uploaded to Workday will be subject to review and approval by the Office of Human Resources (HR). HR reserves the right to review and remove any pictures that fail to meet the above standards at any time. Continued submission of photos that do not meet the standards outlined above may be result in disciplinary action.

Size

The maximum image size is 10 MB.  The image should be a recent photo in which the employee is the only subject. It is recommended that the image be approximately 200 x 200 pixels with a solid-colored background. The image file should be in one of these formats: JPEG, GIF, BMP, TIFF or PNG. Workday does not support images in the CMYK color space.

Note

The approved photo appears in the employee’s Workday profile and is visible to anyone at Northeastern Illinois University who is logged in to Workday.
