About the Workday Financials Project
The Workday Financials project has been kicked off in March 2025. The Workday Financial modules are scheduled to go live in the Summer of 2026 (FY 2027). The project team focuses on creating more agile financial business processes powered by Workday.

Ongoing, transparent communication among the project team, NEIU employees, the implementation partner (Alchemy), and all contributing groups is essential for the project’s success.
Day One Usage
A shared vision of desired outcomes guides every decision—from system access and security to reporting needs—ensuring Workday is ready and effective from the day Workday and the new business processes go live (currently, scheduled for the Summer of 2026 - FY 2027).
Day One Readiness also applies to Workday user preparedness. This means that every impacted system user - from students to vendors - is committed to following the new business process and can use Workday functionality as part of their daily operations.

What's In It for You?
As we begin implementing Workday Financials, I want to highlight the significance of this transformation and how it will benefit our NEIU community. This new system will streamline and modernize financial processes, making them more efficient, transparent, and user-friendly.
Employees who use ESM and Chrome River will notice a major improvement—Workday unifies purchasing into one intuitive system for creating requisitions, tracking orders, and managing vendors.
Workday also provides real-time visibility into budgets and spending, empowering departments to make more informed financial decisions. With centralized data, we’ll gain a unified, accurate view of our finances, improving collaboration and reducing errors.
Enhanced compliance tracking through Workday’s built-in audit trail will simplify audits and ensure adherence to policies and regulations. Additionally, automation and process optimization will help reduce costs and allow us to focus resources on NEIU’s mission and growth.
